A leader in education and the not for profit sector, ranked by Forbes Middle East in 2018 as the #34 Most Influential Woman in the Middle East, Haifa Dia Al-Attia is now the Vice President for Growth and Regional Expansion of Luminus Education and CEO of Luminus Plus, and has also been serving since May 2018 on the founding Steering Committee of the Paris Peace Forum.
From December 2012 to September 2018, Haifa was the founding CEO of the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development (QRF), an umbrella organisation for Her Majesty’s NGOs and a research hub to inform and influence national educational policy and develop programs that address needs and gaps in services to Jordanian and Arab learners, including Edraak, the Arab World’s first not for profit MOOC platform which today boasts over 2 million learners.
Appointed in 2015 by the Prime Minister to serve on the National Committee for Human Resources Development Strategy, she led on authoring the early childhood and K-12 part of that strategy.
Having taught in public high schools, and risen to the position of Deputy Director of the Office of the then Crown Prince El Hassan bin Talal, Haifa served on the Board of Trustees of the Amman Baccalaureate School, as Vice President of the International Baccalaureate Organization’s Council of Foundation (IBO) and its regional representative for the Middle East, then in 2006, with the Aga Khan Academies.
She served on the global board of the International Women’s Forum and its Jordan chapter, on the Jordanian National Gymnastics Federation, and as President of the Jordanian Osteoporosis Prevention Society.
Haifa is perfectly bilingual in Arabic and English and speaks both French and Italian.
